Abstract

Formal Concept Analysis, as a mathematical tool, has been applied successively in diverse fields of computer science, such as data mining, social networks, software engineering, and the semantic web, to cite but a few. The stability measure is one of the hardest to compute interestingness measures of a formal concept. In this talk, we discuss the issue of efficient stability computation. Then, we unveil the unknown link between stability computation and that of minimal transversals. The latter has been shown to have a countless number of applications in nearly all the fields of computer Science. Then, we present some of the applicative cases of minimal transversals, e.g., Vanets, Data warehouses, etc.
We conclude by presenting the thriving challenges of mining the minimal patterns in the era of Big Data. We both stress on theoretical issues as well as on applicative cases.

Biography:

Sadok Ben Yahia is holding the position of full professor, since 2013, at the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis. Besides his academic responsibilities, He had participated in several administrative tasks such that student’s projects coordinator and He was the head of the computer Science department at the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis for 3 years (2011-2014).
Currently, He is the Director of the Research Laboratory LIPAH (50 permanent members, 55 PhD Students) and his research interests mainly focus on combinatorial aspects in Big Data and their applications to different fields, e.g., Data mining, Social Computing, information aggregation & dissemination in smart cities.
For the supervision activities, He supervised 21 PhD Computer Science Students and more than 50 master students.
