Workshop: STD2025 – Sampling from the Target Distribution
Date: Tuesday, 25 November 2025, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Institut Mines-Télécom, Place Marguerite Perey, Palaiseau
Registration (free of charge but limited to 55 participants): https://std2025.sciencesconf.org/
This one-day workshop, Sampling from a Target Distribution, aims to bring together researchers working on Monte Carlo methods and variational inference. The event will foster discussions on recent advances in sampling algorithms, theoretical guarantees, and practical implementations. By bridging perspectives from both stochastic and deterministic approaches to inference, the workshop seeks to highlight connections and contrasts between MCMC and variational methods.
The program will feature invited talks, short presentations, and open discussions designed to encourage exchange and collaboration among participants.
This event is part of the Hi!Pomm project, funded by Hi! Paris.
