ARMEDIA uses mathematical and statistical methods for the analysis and the modelisation of multimedia contents. The scientific topics are structured in three axis:

• image, sound and vision ;
• modelisation, exchange and content enrichment;
• interaction and adaptive interfaces

Its activities cover research in health and assistive technologies for disabled people, analysis, interpretation and scene recognition inside video, multimedia indexing and mining, transmission, adaptation and content protection, virtual and augmented reality and 3D graphics modelisation.
