Ce nouveau paradigme a rapidement r\u00e9volutionn\u00e9 l&rsquo;industrie IT et a permis de nouvelles tendances en mati\u00e8re de prestation de services informatiques, y compris l&rsquo;externalisation des infrastructures IT vers des prestataires tiers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s. Un d\u00e9fi majeur pour ces fournisseurs de Cloud est de d\u00e9finir des strat\u00e9gies efficaces pour la gestion de leurs ressources afin de r\u00e9duire leurs co\u00fbts, am\u00e9liorer l&rsquo;utilisation de leurs infrastructures et maximiser leurs b\u00e9n\u00e9fices dans un tel march\u00e9 concurrentiel. Dans ce contexte, la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de Cloud a \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9e comme une solution cl\u00e9 pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 l&rsquo;augmentation et la fluctuation des demandes utilisateurs. Les fournisseurs, ayant des besoins compl\u00e9mentaires en ressources au fil du temps, peuvent collaborer en partageant leurs infrastructures respectives pour ajuster dynamiquement leurs capacit\u00e9s d&rsquo;h\u00e9bergement en fonction de la demande et de la disponibilit\u00e9 de leur infrastructure. Toutefois, \u00eatre membre d&rsquo;une coalition rend le processus d&rsquo;allocation de ressources plus complexe, puisque les fournisseurs doivent \u00e9galement g\u00e9rer les d\u00e9cisions de coop\u00e9ration et de r\u00e9partition des charges de travail au sein de la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n<p>Cette th\u00e8se aborde le probl\u00e8me d&rsquo;optimisation du profit via la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration et l&rsquo;allocation optimale des ressources parmi plusieurs fournisseurs d&rsquo;infrastructure. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude examine les principaux d\u00e9fis et opportunit\u00e9s li\u00e9s \u00e0 la maximisation des revenus dans une f\u00e9d\u00e9ration de Clouds, et d\u00e9finit des strat\u00e9gies d&rsquo;allocation efficaces pour aider les fournisseurs d&rsquo;infrastructures dans leurs d\u00e9cisions de coop\u00e9ration via des op\u00e9rations optimales d&rsquo;externalisation \u00ab Outsourcing \u00bb et d&rsquo;internalisation \u00ab Insourcing \u00bb de ressources. Des approches exactes et heuristiques, s&rsquo;appuyant sur l&rsquo;optimisation combinatoire et la th\u00e9orie des graphes, sont propos\u00e9es pour automatiser la s\u00e9lection des plans d&rsquo;allocation les plus rentables pour satisfaire la demande des utilisateurs et les exigences de mise en r\u00e9seau. En se basant sur une mod\u00e9lisation par graphes pour formuler les demandes de ressources, les algorithmes propos\u00e9s traitent efficacement les requ\u00eates de services simples (machines virtuelles autonomes) et complexes exigeant la fourniture d&rsquo;infrastructures virtuelles composites et connect\u00e9es. La simulation et l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation des performances confirment l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de nos algorithmes \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le profit des fournisseurs et leur flexibilit\u00e9 de passage \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle, et mettent l&rsquo;accent sur les meilleures conditions pour une f\u00e9d\u00e9ration rentable. <\/p>\n<p><em>Abstract:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cloud Computing is a steadily maturing large-scale model for providing on-demand IT resources on a pay-as-you-go basis. This emerging paradigm has rapidly revolutionized the IT industry and enabled new service delivery trends, including infrastructure externalization to large third-party providers. A major challenge for Cloud providers today is to define efficient resource management strategies to reduce their costs, improve their infrastructure utilization and ensure profitable business in such a competitive market. In this context, Cloud Federation has been proposed as a key solution to the increasing and variable workloads. Providers having complementary resource requirements over time can collaborate by sharing their respective infrastructures to dynamically adjust their hosting capacities in response to their workloads. However, joining a coalition makes the resource allocation task more challenging, since providers have to deal with cooperation decisions and workload distribution within the federation.<\/p>\n<p>This thesis focuses on this optimization problem of federating and optimally allocating distributed resources amongst multiple infrastructure providers. The work investigates the key challenges and opportunities related to profit maximization in a Cloud federation, and provides efficient strategies to assist IaaS providers in their cooperation through optimal outsourcing and insourcing decisions. Different approaches ranging from exact combinatorial optimization to graph theory and simple heuristics, are proposed to automate the selection of cost-effective distributed allocation plans that simultaneously satisfy user demand and networking requirements. Based on a generic graph modeling of tenants&rsquo; demands, the proposed algorithms can handle both simple and complex requests, ranging from standalone VMs to composite services with multiple connected resources. The performance evaluation and the identified benefits confirm the scalability of our algorithms and their efficiency in improving profits and shed light on the conditions for a profitable
