Cette transformation est outill\u00e9e par de nouvelles plateformes informatiques intitul\u00e9es \u00ab plateformes de m\u00e9dia sociaux d\u2019entreprise \u00bb (de l\u2019anglais \u00ab Enterprise Social Media platforms \u2013 ESM platforms \u00bb). Ces plateformes portent la promesse d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la communication des employ\u00e9s dans leur environnement de travail tout en outillant leurs liens sociaux. N\u00e9anmoins, le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de l\u2019usage de ces plateformes par leurs employ\u00e9s demeure vague et peu mesurable pour les entreprises, dont les dirigeants ont pourtant besoin d\u2019\u00e9valuer cet usage et de mesurer ainsi tangiblement le succ\u00e8s de leurs investissements. De plus, le fait d\u2019introduire des plateformes ESM dans les environnements de travail impacte la fa\u00e7on dont les outils existants, tels que la messagerie \u00e9lectronique, sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9es et utilis\u00e9s. La question qui se pose est alors de savoir si ces nouvelles plateformes pourraient remplacer l\u2019usage des outils existants.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce contexte, cette th\u00e8se adresse la probl\u00e9matique de la place des plateformes ESM dans les entreprises d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Elle examine l\u2019usage r\u00e9el de ces plateformes en offrant une analyse quantitative des r\u00e9seaux sociaux, \u00e9tablie \u00e0 partir de l\u2019usage actuel de ces plateformes. En s\u2019appuyant sur un mod\u00e8le de recherche con\u00e7u pour caract\u00e9riser l\u2019activit\u00e9, la th\u00e8se applique des tests d\u2019hypoth\u00e8se qui permettent de comparer l\u2019usage pr\u00e9vu de ces plateformes \u00e0 leur usage r\u00e9el, et ainsi de mesurer le succ\u00e8s du d\u00e9ploiement de ces plateformes. De plus, cette th\u00e8se \u00e9tudie, \u00e0 travers une approche d\u00e9ductive et exp\u00e9rimentale, la capacit\u00e9 des plateformes ESM \u00e0 remplacer l\u2019usage des outils existants dans les environnements de travail. Ces plateformes fonctionnent aujourd\u2019hui plut\u00f4t en tandem avec d\u2019autres outils tels que la messagerie \u00e9lectronique. Cette th\u00e8se propose ainsi d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la messagerie par une fonctionnalit\u00e9 de tagging social afin que l\u2019utilisateur puisse b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de son r\u00e9seau social sous-jacent. Ce service de tagging est ensuite test\u00e9 et valid\u00e9 via un prototype. Pour conclure, cette th\u00e8se propose des scenarios pour les futurs syst\u00e8mes sociaux, englobant la totalit\u00e9 des outils de l\u2019environnement de travail au sein des entreprises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><br \/>\nToday\u2019s organizations are increasingly promoting a shift of employees\u2019 ways of working towards more agility and flexibility. This shift is empowered by new IT tools commonly known as \u201cEnterprise Social Media\u201d (ESM). Taking mainly the form of integrated platforms, these tools are deployed with the promise of enhancing employees\u2019 communicative activities at the workplace while capitalizing on their social connections. Yet, it remains unclear for companies how their employees benefit from the use of these new tools (i.e. ESM platforms). Managers are unable to evaluate the use of these platforms and thus, tangibly measure the success of their investments. Moreover, introducing ESM platforms to the workplace impact the way the existing tools, such as email, are regarded and used. This leads to the question of whether these new platforms may be substitutes for the use of the existing tools. This thesis tackles the mentioned polemical questions about the place of ESM platforms in today\u2019s enterprises. Carried out jointly with Orange labs, the thesis assesses the role ESM platforms could play in supporting organizations in reaching their objectives and hence sustaining their businesses in an extreme competitive context. It explores the real use of these platforms by offering a quantitative social network analysis and data mining of an established ESM platform currently in use. While relying on a proposed research model that characterizes the activity, the applied hypothesis tests allow determining the correct use of ESM platforms, which in turn indicates the success of their deployments. Moreover, the thesis argues through a reasoning approach that the ESM platforms are not capable of substituting the use of existing workplace tools. Instead, they work in tandem with certain tools such as email. Based on the latter argument, the email tagging service is introduced as an example of how existing workplace tools may be enriched with social features to derive increased benefit for the workforce. The thesis finally validates the service through implementation and testing. To conclude, it proposes and discusses scenarios of future social systems that involve the overall set of workplace tools in
