Alassane&nbsp;SAMBA<\/strong>, Docteur, Orange Labs Lannion, FRANCE &#8211; Co-encadrant de these<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00ab Nouvelles m\u00e9thodes d&rsquo;apprentissage automatique pour la planification des r\u00e9seaux mobiles \u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Madame Danny QIU<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R\u00e9sum\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afin d&rsquo;assurer un service performant et accessible au plus grand nombre, les op\u00e9rateurs de t\u00e9l\u00e9communication doivent continuellement mettre \u00e0 jour l&rsquo;infrastructure de leur r\u00e9seau mobile. Ces modifications visent \u00e0 \u00e9tendre la couverture et \u00e0 augmenter de la capacit\u00e9 existante par divers moyens : ajout de nouvelles stations de base, de nouvelles cellules, \u00e9ventuellement en conjonction avec un basculement technologique. Par ailleurs, le fonctionnement du r\u00e9seau produit un nombre massif de donn\u00e9es, notamment sur l&rsquo;utilisation des cellules\u00a0: leur trafic, leur affluence ou leur occupation. L\u2019objectif de la th\u00e8se est de d\u00e9velopper des applications de l&rsquo;apprentissage automatique pour estimer les indicateurs de charge et de performance de stations de bases et de cellules concern\u00e9es par un futur d\u00e9ploiement. Pour cela, on propose d&rsquo;utiliser des donn\u00e9es externes aux t\u00e9l\u00e9communications, comme le tissu urbain et la distribution de la population pour mod\u00e9liser la demande d&rsquo;un territoire et am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des pr\u00e9dictions. Les principales contributions apport\u00e9es par cette th\u00e8se sont, en premier lieu, l&rsquo;estimation du profil de l&rsquo;affluence hebdomadaire routini\u00e8re d&rsquo;une future station de base \u00e0 d\u00e9ployer, deuxi\u00e8mement, l&rsquo;estimation de l&rsquo;impact de l\u2019ajout de nouvelles cellules sur la disponibilit\u00e9 et la qualit\u00e9 de service des cellules existant sur le secteur concern\u00e9 par la mise \u00e0 jour, et enfin, la pr\u00e9diction du trafic de pointe de cellules 5G ajout\u00e9es sur des sites 4G existants. Ces r\u00e9sultats participent \u00e0 une meilleure planification de r\u00e9seau mobile. En l\u2019occurrence, ils fournissent de nouveaux indicateurs permettant d\u2019impl\u00e9menter une recherche automatique d\u2019un emplacement g\u00e9ographique optimal en termes de rentabilit\u00e9 et de qualit\u00e9 de service, lors du d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019un nouvel \u00e9quipement.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mobile network operators are continuously updating their infrastructure to maintain high levels of service, both in terms of efficiency and availability. This is done by extending the network coverage and increasing its the capacity in different ways: adding new base stations or adding new cells, possibly jointly with a technology shift. Moreover, mobile networks produce a massive amount of data about cell usage, traffic, number of connected users\u2026 The goal of this thesis is to develop machine learning applications to estimate the performance indicators of cells and base stations affected by a future network deployment. For that purpose, and to increase the models accuracy, we propose to use external data, such as urban fabrics and population distribution to model the demand of a territory. The main contributions of this thesis are firstly, the estimation of weekly traffic patterns of future base stations to be deployed, secondly, the estimation of the impact of adding new cells on the availability and quality of service of existing cells on an updated sector, and finally, the prediction of the peak traffic of 5G cells deployed on existing 4G sites. These results contribute to reinforce mobile network planning. In particular, they provide new indicators for the automatic search of optimal deployment spots, in terms of profitability and\/or quality of
