Teddy\u00a0FURON<\/strong>, Ing\u00e9nieur de recherche, CNRS, IRISA, FRANCE &#8211; Rapporteur<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>R\u00e9sum\u00e9 :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce travail de th\u00e8se vise \u00e0 r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des cl\u00e9s crypto-biom\u00e9triques (cl\u00e9s cryptographiques obtenues avec des donn\u00e9es biom\u00e9triques) r\u00e9sistantes aux m\u00e9thodes de cryptanalyse quantique. Le d\u00e9fi est d&rsquo;obtenir des cl\u00e9s avec une haute entropie pour avoir un haut niveau de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, sachant que le l&rsquo;entropie contenue dans les r\u00e9f\u00e9rences biom\u00e9triques limite l&rsquo;entropie de la cl\u00e9. Notre choix a \u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;exploiter la biom\u00e9trie faciale. Nous avons d&rsquo;abord cr\u00e9\u00e9 un syst\u00e8me de reconnaissance faciale de pointe bas\u00e9 en utilisant des bases de donn\u00e9es publiques. Notre architecture utilise des r\u00e9seaux de neurones profonds avec une fonction de perte\u2018Triplet loss\u2019. Nous avons particip\u00e9 \u00e0 deux Projets europ\u00e9ens H2020. Pour le projet SpeechXRays, nous avons fourni des impl\u00e9mentations de la biom\u00e9trie faciale classique et cancelable. Pour le projet H2020 EMPATHIC, nous avons cr\u00e9\u00e9 une API REST de v\u00e9rification faciale. Nous avons \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 au challenge multim\u00e9dia NIST SRE19 avec la version finale de notre syst\u00e8me classique de reconnaissance faciale qui a donn\u00e9e d\u2019excellents r\u00e9sultats. Pour obtenir des cl\u00e9s crypto-biom\u00e9triques, il est n\u00e9cessaire de disposer de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences biom\u00e9triques binaires. Pour obtenir les repr\u00e9sentations binaires directement \u00e0 partir d\u2019images de visage, nous avons propos\u00e9 une m\u00e9thode novatrice tirant parti des auto-encodeurs et la biom\u00e9trie faciale classique pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment mise en \u0153uvre. Nous avons \u00e9galement exploit\u00e9 les repr\u00e9sentations binaires pour cr\u00e9er un syst\u00e8me de v\u00e9rification de visage cancelable. Concernant notre objectif final, g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des cl\u00e9s crypto-biom\u00e9triques, nous nous sommes concentr\u00e9s sur les cl\u00e9s sym\u00e9triques. Le chiffrement sym\u00e9trique est menac\u00e9 par l&rsquo;algorithme Groover parce qu&rsquo;il r\u00e9duit la complexit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une attaque par force brute de 2^N \u00e0 2^(N\/2). Pour att\u00e9nuer le risque introduit par l&rsquo;informatique quantique, nous devons augmenter la taille des cl\u00e9s. Pour cela, nous avons essay\u00e9 de faire la repr\u00e9sentation binaire plus longue et plus discriminante. Pour que les cl\u00e9s soient r\u00e9sistantes \u00e0 l&rsquo;informatique quantique, ils devraient avoir le double de longueur. Nous avons r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des cl\u00e9s crypto-biom\u00e9triques de plus de 400 bits (avec de faibles taux de fausses acceptations et de faux rejets) gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 des plongements binaires. Les cl\u00e9s crypto-biom\u00e9triques ont une haute entropie et r\u00e9sistent \u00e0 la cryptanalyse quantique selon le PQCrypto projet car ils satisfont \u00e0 l&rsquo;exigence de longueur. Les cl\u00e9s sont r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un sch\u00e9ma de \u00ab\u00a0fuzzy commitment\u00a0\u00bb en utilisant les codes BCH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Abstract : \u00ab\u00a0Use of Biometrics for the Regeneration of Revocable Crypto-biometric Keys\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The thesis aims to regenerate crypto-biometric keys (cryptographic keys obtained with biometric data) that are resistant to quantum cryptanalysis methods. The challenge is to obtain keys with high entropy to have a high level of security, knowing that the entropy contained in biometric references limits the entropy of the key. Our choice was to exploit facial biometrics. We first created a state-of-the-art face recognition system based on public frameworks and publicly available data based on DNN embedding extractor architecture and triplet loss function. We participated in two H2020 projects. For the SpeechXRays project, we provided implementations of classical and cancelable face biometrics. For the H2020 EMPATHIC project, we created a face verification REST API. We also participated in the NIST SRE19 multimedia challenge with the final version of our classical face recognition system. In order to obtain crypto-biometric keys, it is necessary to have binary biometric references. To obtain the binary representations directly from face images, we proposed an original method, leveraging autoencoders and the previously implemented classical face biometrics. We also exploited the binary representations to create a cancelable face verification system. Regarding our final goal, to generate crypto-biometric keys, we focused on symmetric keys. Symmetric encryption is threatened by the Groover algorithm because it reduces the complexity of a brute force attack on a symmetric key from 2^N to 2^(N\/2). To mitigate the risk introduced by quantum computing, we need to increase the size of the keys. To this end, we tried to make the binary representation longer and more discriminative. For the keys to be resistant to quantum computing, they should have double the length. We succeeded in regenerating crypto-biometric keys longer than 400bits (with low false acceptance and false rejection rates) thanks to the quality of the binary embeddings. The crypto-biometric keys have high entropy and are resistant to quantum cryptanalysis, according to the PQCrypto project, as they satisfy the length requirement.
