Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 cela, les cadres th\u00e9oriques sous-jacents tels que ceux de la physique du solide et des semi-conducteurs, l\u2019optique quantique et l\u2019optique guid\u00e9e ont sans cesse \u00e9t\u00e9 habilement combin\u00e9s de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 pr\u00e9parer de nouvelles briques technologiques pour les futures applications ou champs d\u2019exploration (essentiellement gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des transpositions d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments de physique du solide aux r\u00e9gimes optiques).<\/p>\n<p>A l\u2019occasion de ma soutenance de HDR, je pr\u00e9senterai les principales recherches que j\u2019ai men\u00e9es depuis mon arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 T\u00e9l\u00e9com SudParis (d\u00e9partement Electronique et Physique). Celles-ci s\u2019int\u00e9ressent d\u2019une part \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de fonctions de traitement tout optique des signaux t\u00e9l\u00e9coms et \u00e0 l\u2019analyse des composants d\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s. L\u2019accent sera mis sur les effets dynamiques dans les amplificateurs hybrides que nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s (EDFA + SOA) et sur les techniques de r\u00e9flectom\u00e9trie optique pour l\u2019analyse de la propagation de la lumi\u00e8re dans les composants r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en optique int\u00e9gr\u00e9e. Les exp\u00e9rimentations fines men\u00e9es sur les filtres, les d\u00e9fauts actifs optiquement et \u00e9lectriquement et les composants \u00e0 base de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux (r\u00e9gime de lumi\u00e8re lente dans les cristaux photoniques) seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Dans une seconde partie, les perspectives de recherches qui d\u00e9coulent de ces exp\u00e9riences seront \u00e9voqu\u00e9es. En particulier, les applications vis\u00e9es concernent l\u2019extension des techniques de r\u00e9flectom\u00e9trie aux probl\u00e9matiques des biocapteurs et \u00e9galement \u00e0 une reconnaissance biom\u00e9trique s\u00e9curis\u00e9e. On note qu\u2019actuellement les principales approches couramment utilis\u00e9es pour ces deux applications reposent sur l\u2019exploitation d\u2019informations partielles (absence de mesure de phase et de polarisation en spectre \u00e9troit). Elles peuvent d\u00e8s lors limiter l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 certaines propri\u00e9t\u00e9s utiles voire essentielles des milieux \u00e9tudi\u00e9s. Pour aller au-del\u00e0, les moyens que nous avons d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s pour acc\u00e9der de fa\u00e7on compl\u00e8te au champ \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique (au sens de l&rsquo;optique lin\u00e9aire) seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s (Complex Optical Low Coherence Interferometry, Optical Frequency Domain Interferometry, Optical Coherence Tomography).
