Assurer l’appropriation des donn\u00e9es personnelles et l’interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9
\ndes applications Web sociaux d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s est actuellement un sujet
\ncontrovers\u00e9, surtout en tenant compte de la vie priv\u00e9e et
\ndu contr\u00f4le d’acc\u00e8s. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que les donn\u00e9es de l’utilisateur sont
\nun atout important des mod\u00e8les d’affaires actuels pour la plupart des
\nsites de r\u00e9seaux sociaux, les entreprises n’ont aucun int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 partager
\nles donn\u00e9es entre elles ou \u00e0 offrir aux utilisateurs une v\u00e9ritable
\nappropriation de leurs donn\u00e9es en termes de contr\u00f4le et de transparence
\nde l’utilisation des donn\u00e9es. Nous avons donc conclu qu’il est important
\nd’am\u00e9liorer le Web social de telle mani\u00e8re \u00e0 permettre des mod\u00e8les
\nd’affaires viables tout en \u00e9tant capable de fournir une plus grande
\nappropriation des donn\u00e9es et l’interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es par rapport
\n\u00e0 la situation actuelle.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 cet \u00e9gard, nous avons concentr\u00e9 notre recherche sur trois th\u00e8mes
\ndiff\u00e9rents : le contr\u00f4le d’identit\u00e9, l’authentification et le controle
\nd’acc\u00e8s. Tout d’abord, nous abordons le sujet de l’identit\u00e9
\nd\u00e9centralis\u00e9e en proposant un nouveau standard Web appel\u00e9 \u00abWeb Identity
\nand Discovery\u00bb (WebID), qui offre un m\u00e9canisme d’identification simple
\net universel qui est distribu\u00e9 et ouvertement extensible.<\/p>\n

Ensuite, nous traitons la question de l’authentification. Nous
\nproposons WebID-TLS, un protocole d’authentification d\u00e9centralis\u00e9 qui
\npermet une authentification s\u00e9curis\u00e9e, simple et efficace sur le Web en
\npermettant aux personnes de se connecter \u00e0 l’aide de certificats
\nclients, et ce sans l’intervention d’autorit\u00e9s de certification. Deux extensions
\ndu WebID-TLS sont propos\u00e9es : l’authentification d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9e et la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation d’acc\u00e8s.<\/p>\n

Enfin, nous pr\u00e9sentons notre derni\u00e8re contribution, un service de
\ncontr\u00f4le d’acc\u00e8s social, qui sert \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger l’acc\u00e8s aux ressources
\nLinked Data g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par les utilisateurs (par exemple, les donn\u00e9es de
\nprofil, les messages du mur, les conversations, etc) par l’application de deux
\nmesures : la \u00abdistance de proximit\u00e9 sociale\u00bb et le \u00abcontexte social\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\nAbstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ensuring personal data ownership and interoperability for decentralized
\nsocial Web applications is currently a debated topic, especially when
\ntaking into consideration the aspects of privacy and access control.
\nSince the user’s data are such an important asset of the current
\nbusiness models for most social Websites, companies have no incentive to
\nshare data among each other or to offer users real ownership of their
\nown data in terms of control and transparency of data usage. We have
\nconcluded therefore that it is important to improve the social Web in
\nsuch a way that it allows for viable business models while still being
\nable to provide increased data ownership and data interoperability
\ncompared to the current situation.<\/p>\n

To this regard, we have focused our research on three different topics:
\nidentity, authentication and access control. First, we tackle the
\nsubject of decentralized identity by proposing a new Web standard called
\n\u00ab\u00a0Web Identity and Discovery\u00a0\u00bb (WebID), which offers a simple and
\nuniversal identification mechanism that is distributed and openly
\nextensible. Next, we move to the topic of authentication where we
\npropose WebID-TLS, a decentralized authentication protocol that enables
\nsecure, efficient and user friendly authentication on the Web by
\nallowing people to login using client certificates and without relying
\non Certification Authorities. We also extend the WebID-TLS protocol,
\noffering delegated authentication and access delegation. Finally we
\npresent our last contribution, the Social Access Control Service, which
\nserves to protect the privacy of Linked Data resources generated by
\nusers (e.g. profile data, wall posts, conversations, etc.) by applying
\ntwo social metrics: the \u00ab\u00a0social proximity distance\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0social contexts\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n
