Patrick HORAIN, T\u00e9l\u00e9com SudParis (Encadrant) <\/p>\n<p><strong>R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les environnements virtuels collaboratifs permettent \u00e0 plusieurs utilisateurs d&rsquo;interagir \u00e0 distance par Internet. Ils peuvent partager  une impression de t\u00e9l\u00e9pr\u00e9sence en animant \u00e0 distance un avatar qui les  repr\u00e9sente.  Toutefois,  le contr\u00f4le de cet avatar peut \u00eatre difficile et mal restituer les gestes de l&rsquo;utilisateur. Ce travail vise \u00e0 animer l&rsquo;avatar \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;une acquisition 3D des gestes de l&rsquo;utilisateur par vision monoculaire en temps r\u00e9el, et \u00e0 rendre la t\u00e9l\u00e9pr\u00e9sence virtuelle possible au moyen d&rsquo;un PC grand public \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&rsquo;une webcam. <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;approche suivie consiste \u00e0 recaler un mod\u00e8le 3D articul\u00e9 de la  partie sup\u00e9rieure du corps humain sur une s\u00e9quence vid\u00e9o. Ceci est  r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en cherchant it\u00e9rativement la meilleure correspondance entre des primitives extraites du mod\u00e8le 3D d&rsquo;une part et de l&rsquo;image d&rsquo;autre  part. Le recalage en deux \u00e9tapes peut proc\u00e9der sur les r\u00e9gions, puis sur les contours. La premi\u00e8re contribution de cette th\u00e8se est une m\u00e9thode de r\u00e9partition des it\u00e9rations de calcul qui optimise la  robustesse et la pr\u00e9cision sous la contrainte du temps-r\u00e9el. <\/p>\n<p>La difficult\u00e9 majeure pour le suivi 3D \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;images monoculaires provient des ambigu\u00eft\u00e9s 3D\/2D et de l&rsquo;absence d&rsquo;information de  profondeur. Le filtrage particulaire est d\u00e9sormais une approche classique pour la propagation d&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8ses multiples entre les images. La deuxi\u00e8me contribution de cette th\u00e8se est une am\u00e9lioration du filtrage particulaire pour le recalage 3D\/2D en un temps de calcul limit\u00e9 par des heuristiques, dont la contribution est d\u00e9mont\u00e9e  exp\u00e9rimentalement. Un param\u00e9trage de l&rsquo;attitude des bras par l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de leur cha\u00eene cin\u00e9matique est propos\u00e9 qui permet de mieux mod\u00e9liser l&rsquo;incertitude sur la profondeur.
