\nRetrieval Systems. Based on this vision, we propose a set of tools for a
\nbetter evaluation and conception of P2P-IR systems.<\/p>\n
\nsystem behaves well in which context ; how different components\/aspects
\nof a single system contribute to its performance ; how modifications of
\nthe system can make its performance evolve. On the other hand,
\nconsidering design of P2P-IR systems, we would like to be able to choose
\na P2P approach based on what is known about the context the application
\nwill execute in (data set, network properties…) ; understand how to
\nmix P2P systems ; better control the impact of a modification of the
\nimplementation of a system on its behavior an performance.<\/p>\n
\nThere is a common need to improve on both directions : better understand
\nthe architecture of P2P-IR systems. On the basis of our reflexion, we
\nconsider a P2P-IR system is the implementation in P2P of an IR system,
\nwhich contrasts with the traditional two-layered vision. We use this
\nidea to give a set of definitions that help better understand the
\ndifferent RI and P2P components of a single system and their
\nrelationships. We then show how this vision can be used to help design
\nnew systems.<\/p>\n

\nsavoir choisir une approche P2P en fonction du contexte de l’application
\n\u00e0 impl\u00e9menter (jeu de donn\u00e9es, propri\u00e9t\u00e9s du r\u00e9seau…) ; comprendre
\ncomment mixer des syst\u00e8mes ; mieux ma\u00eetriser l’impact d’une modification
\nde l’impl\u00e9mentation sur le comportement et les performances d’un syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n
\nsont fortement li\u00e9es. Un m\u00eame fondement est n\u00e9cessaire pour progresser dans ces deux sens : mieux comprendre l’architecture des syst\u00e8mes RI-P2P. <\/p>\n
\nRI-P2P est l’impl\u00e9mentation en P2P d’un mod\u00e8le RI, id\u00e9e qui s’oppose au mod\u00e8le traditionnel en deux couches. Nous nous appuyons sur cette id\u00e9e pour donner un ensemble de d\u00e9finitions qui permettent de mieux
\nappr\u00e9hender les diff\u00e9rents composants RI et composants P2P d’un m\u00eame syst\u00e8me et la fa\u00e7on dont ils s’organisent. <\/p>\n
