Pour g\u00e9rer cette explosion, les techniques de caching stockent une partie des contenus sur des m\u00e9moires distribu\u00e9es dans le r\u00e9seau et par cons\u00e9quent r\u00e9duisent l\u2019utilisation de bande. Pour cette raison, leur r\u00f4le sera cruciale dans le r\u00e9seau 5G de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. La recherche sur le caching a \u00e9t\u00e9 principalement focalis\u00e9 sur des m\u00e9triques de r\u00e9seau comme le hit ratio, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la fraction de requ\u00eates des usagers servi par le cache. Pourtant, il y a d\u2019autres aspects du caching qui n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 suffisamment consid\u00e9r\u00e9s, mais qui d\u00e9terminent son efficacit\u00e9 en pratique. Les aspects qui font l\u2019objet de la recherche du Dr. Araldo sont (i) le co\u00fbt op\u00e9rationnel des op\u00e9rateurs de r\u00e9seau, (ii) la qualit\u00e9 de la transmission vid\u00e9o et (iii) la transmission de contenu chiffr\u00e9. Ces sujets sont particuli\u00e8rement relevants parce que (i) le revenu des op\u00e9rateurs de r\u00e9seau est en train de d\u00e9cro\u00eetre r\u00e9cemment (source ITU), (ii) la vid\u00e9o repr\u00e9sentera 80 % du trafic (source : Cisco) et (iii) la plupart du trafic sera chiffr\u00e9.<br \/>\nDr. Araldo montre qu\u2019optimiser des m\u00e9triques importantes pour les op\u00e9rateurs et les usagers, comme le co\u00fbt ou la qualit\u00e9 vid\u00e9o, peut \u00eatre en conflit avec la maximisation classique du hit-ratio. Il propose alors des politiques de caching qui visent \u00e0 optimiser directement ces m\u00e9triques importantes. De plus, en ce qui concerne (ii), le caching classique assume qu\u2019un objet est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par un fichier seulement. Cela n\u2019est pas vrai quand l\u2019objet en question est une vid\u00e9o, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu\u2019elle peut \u00eatre repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en diff\u00e9rents niveaux de qualit\u00e9, avec des requises de stockage et de bande diff\u00e9rentes, qui se traduisent aussi en diff\u00e9rente qualit\u00e9 per\u00e7ue par les usagers. Des nouvelles techniques pour s\u00e9lectionner les repr\u00e9sentations \u00e0 stocker seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es. En ce qui concerne (iii), les techniques de caching classiques assument que l\u2019op\u00e9rateur de r\u00e9seau qui g\u00e8re les caches a la visibilit\u00e9 compl\u00e8te du contenu transmis. Cela n\u2019est pas une assomption correcte dans la plupart des cas, parce que les fournisseurs de contenu (Youtube, Spotify, etc.) veulent maintenir un contr\u00f4le exclusif de leur contenu et le prot\u00e8gent en le transmettant via HTTPS. Par cons\u00e9quent, les op\u00e9rateurs sont forc\u00e9s \u00e0 g\u00e9rer des fluxes de donn\u00e9es \u00e9normes sans pouvoir r\u00e9duire la consommation de bande \u00e0 travers le caching. Dr. Araldo pr\u00e9sentera Content-Oblivious Caching, une nouvelle solution architecturale et algorithmique qui permet aux op\u00e9rateurs de r\u00e9seau de stocker le contenu des fournisseurs, tout en garantissant que l\u2019op\u00e9rateur ne peut pas y acc\u00e9der.<br \/>\nLes m\u00e9thodes utilis\u00e9es pour analyser et supporter les nouvelles techniques sont simulation, optimisation lin\u00e9aire en nombre entiers et contr\u00f4le stochastique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biographie :<\/strong><br \/>\nAndrea Araldo est couramment associ\u00e9 de recherche postdoctorale au Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), dans l\u2019Intelligent Transportation Systems Lab. Ses int\u00e9r\u00eats sont distribution de contenu sur Internet, nouvelles architectures de r\u00e9seau, syst\u00e8mes de transports intelligents, optimisation et mesures de performance de r\u00e9seau.<br \/>\nAndrea Araldo a obtenu le BSc et MSc en Ing\u00e9nierie Informatique \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Catane (Italie) et son doctorat en R\u00e9seaux Informatiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Paris Sud et T\u00e9l\u00e9com ParisTech (2016). Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 chercheur visiteur \u00e0 KTH Royal Institute of Technololgy (Stockholm &#8211; 2015-16) et ing\u00e9nieur de recherche au CNIT, l\u2019institution acad\u00e9mique italienne pour la
